Are the printable cards really free?+
Yes, making a card is free. Email yourself the print-ready PDF and print it yourself, at home or at any shop. Nothing is watermarked and there's no card-details step at the end. It's a GLF Analytics project.
What do I need to print it?+
Any home printer and one sheet of Letter or A4 paper. Cardstock, matte. 65 lb cover (176 gsm) feeds through almost any home printer; 80 lb (216 gsm) if your printer's manual allows it. Plain paper prints fine, but the card will not stand up. Print landscape at Actual size (Letter) or Fit to page (A4), fold in half with the art facing out, and the inside stays blank for whatever you want to write.
Can I print a funny or photo birthday card at home?+
Yes. A funny card with their face in the joke, a card built from a photo, or one drawn from a single description all come with the same print-ready PDF, emailed to you with print instructions. It folds in half on one letter sheet, so it works as a last-minute card too - make it, print it, fold it, and it's ready in a few minutes.
How is this different from other printable birthday cards?+

Do I have to use a photo?+

Can I get it printed somewhere instead of at home?+
Sure. The PDF is a standard 8.5x11 landscape sheet, so any print shop, library printer, or office printer handles it. Ask for cardstock and you're set.
Which AI model makes these cards?+
OpenAI's gpt-image-2.5 image model, since September 16, 2026 (before that, gpt-image-2). It paints the card art; the print-ready PDF layout is ours and has not changed, so the fold and the paper settings in the print guide still apply. A card made from a photo renders at the model's highest quality setting, the most effort the model offers and the one that best keeps a face true to the photo you upload; a card with no photo renders one setting below it.
